Experienced waterman and spear fisherman Capt. Scott Brown joins us to talk about how to get physically prepared for lobster season or spear fishing. Workouts you can do in a pool or on dry land to extend breath hold times, become a stronger swimmer and simply be better than you were last season.

NEVER TRAIN IN THE WATER ALONE.  ALWAYS HAVE A BUDDY.  1 UP 1 DOWN

Bodyweight Training - No Access To Pool:

Warm up

Jumping Jacks

Step Back Lunges

High Knees

Squats

Pushups

Forward lunges

:30 each

Burpee

Jumping Split Lunge

Pushup

Squats

:30 each x 3 sets

Dips

:30 x 3 sets

Flutter Kick

:30 x 3 sets

Access To Pool - Never Train Alone.  Always Have A Buddy. 1 up 1 down

Warm Up

Breast Stroke - 2 laps

:30 flutter out of water

Diaphramatic Breathing

Co2 or O2 tables

Workout:

10 pushups

Kettlebell walks on bottom or kit bag drags across the pool subsurface

X10 - in between sets, do a breathe up and get heart rate back down

Crossover:

Subsurface finning across pool 

1 minute rest between sets

Kick Board:

Kick from one end of the pool to the other - No Fins
