This episode is my thank-you for making the Tom Rowland Podcast the number one fishing podcast of 2024 on Feedspot, after six years and 946 episodes that started on March 12, 2018. I did not get here on my own. You listened, you shared episodes, you commented, and you told me which guests and topics you wanted, and I did my best to deliver them. On this How 2 Tuesday I reflect on the journey and tell you exactly how to shape the show going forward. This is an audio episode, so listen along.

Feedspot named the Tom Rowland Podcast the number one fishing podcast on its list of the top 30 best fishing podcasts worth listening to in 2024. The show launched on March 12, 2018, and by this episode had reached 946 episodes over six years, covering fishing, the outdoors, life, business, and athletics. Getting that email and seeing the show at the top of the list meant a great deal to me.
Directly. You told me the guests you wanted on the show and the topics you wanted covered, and I tried my best to either book those people or find someone who could speak to those subjects. The number one spot happened because I listened to that feedback. The show is genuinely shaped by the people who listen to it, which is why I keep asking for more ideas.
There are two direct ways to reach me. You can text the number 305-930-7346, where you will answer a couple of quick questions and submit a little information, and that is my favorite way to communicate, or you can email podcast@saltwaterexperience.com, which comes straight to me. I read the suggestions and do my best to act on them, so keep them coming because I always need more ideas.
The podcast is available wherever you listen to audio, and audio listeners far outnumber every other way people take in the show. Beyond that, you can watch on YouTube, where the shorts are doing really well, and catch episodes on Waypoint TV, which airs the podcast at various times through the day. We are also active on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook as the Tom Rowland Podcast.
Over 946 episodes I have been lucky to interview people I have tremendous respect for, including bass-world legends like Bill Dance, Roland Martin, and Jimmy Houston, tournament anglers like Mike Iaconelli and Jacob Wheeler, saltwater names like Robert Trosset and Mark the Shark, and scientists working to protect the fisheries we love. There are far too many great guests to name them all, but you can go back through the catalog and find them.
When I hit record for the first time on March 12, 2018, I honestly did not know if anyone was listening, and for a while they probably were not, but over six years that changed. You shared the episodes you liked, you commented online and on Instagram, you watched on YouTube, and most of all you listened. Along the way I learned a ton about fishing, the outdoors, life, business, and taking care of my body. Press play in the player above to hear me reflect on the whole run.
A lot of the guests I am proudest of came directly from your suggestions. Bass legends like Bill Dance, Roland Martin, and Jimmy Houston, tournament anglers like Mike Iaconelli and Jacob Wheeler, saltwater names, and the scientists doing the conservation work that protects our fisheries. I could never pick favorites, and I could never name them all. I talk through some of the standouts in the player above.
This milestone is not mine, it is ours. You built this by listening, sharing, and telling me what you wanted to hear, and I am grateful for every bit of it.
So keep the ideas coming. There are big conversations happening right now about fishing rights, access, and conservation, and I want your input on what matters most to you. Text 305-930-7346 or email podcast@saltwaterexperience.com. Press play in the player above.

Tom Rowland Podcast — Episode 946: How You Made This Show the #1 Fishing Podcast of 2024 (How To Tuesday, solo Tom Rowland)
In this episode: the podcast “started out on 03/12/2018” and hit 946 episodes, the Feedspot email naming it number one of “the top 30 best fishing podcasts worth listening to in 2024,” how listener feedback picked the guests and topics, fishing rights and access on the horizon, and how to text or email your ideas — in the exact words spoken.
Tom Rowland: If you want everything you need to take care of your boat, StarBright's got the solution. It's called boat care in a bucket. That's right. One three and a half gallon bucket packed with essentials, vinyl bright, deck cleaner, marine polish, a wash mitt, hull cleaner, and boat wash. That one kit will keep any boat clean and protected, but that's just the start. I also use StarBright's salt off, which is incredible for rinsing salt off after a day on the water. Their brushes and cleaning products work just as well on your RV and patio furniture and anything else that lives outside. It is a company that gives back. That's one of the things that I really like about StarBright. StarBright supports marine conservation through Project Sea Safe, and that means a lot to me personally. You're getting performance and purpose. Visit starbrite.com. That's starbrite.com, and get your boat dialed in for the season.
Tom Rowland: From The Seychelles to The Keys, I trust Nikon binoculars to find fish fast. Visit nikonusa.com and upgrade your line of sight. I thought I was covered, but I wasn't. HH Insurance showed me that my old policy did not cover The Bahamas or nighttime navigation, two major gaps that could have cost me a lot. Jake and Landon fixed it fast. They know charter policies better than anyone I've ever worked with. Call (727) 498-5551 or visit hhinsgroup.com and tell them Tom Rowland sent you. Trusted enough to go with me to The Seychelles, my Danco pliers are a staple in my kit. Check out dancopliers.com and build yours today.
Tom Rowland: What's going on, everybody? I wanna thank you so much for listening to this podcast. This podcast, the Tom Rowland podcast that you're listening to right now started out on 03/12/2018. That's six years ago. In in the time of the six years, we have done 946 episodes. I can't believe it myself. And I I was able to do all of those episodes because of you, the people that listened to this show and gave me the positive feedback to continue to do it.
Tom Rowland: There for quite some time, I didn't think anybody was listening, and, that for some time, they probably weren't.
Tom Rowland: But over time, you all have shared the episodes that you liked. You've commented on the internet and, on Instagram. You've watched them on YouTube. You've watched them other places and listened to them. The people that listen to them far outweigh any of the other ways that anybody takes on this podcast. But I want to thank you again, nine forty six episodes. And in those nine forty six episodes, I've learned a ton about fishing, about the outdoors, about life, about business, about athletics and how to take care of my body. Lots and lots of things.
Tom Rowland: And I just had this email sent to me the other day, which I thought was pretty cool. It came from Feedspot. I don't even know what Feedspot is, but they had, the top 30 best fishing podcasts worth listening to in 2024. And number one on the list was the Tom Rowland podcast that really made me feel really great. And, I'm really happy about that. On this list are some really great podcasts that I listened to myself. You probably listened to a lot of the ones that are on this list, but for some reason we got the number one spot.
Tom Rowland: And I think it's because I listen to your feedback. You've told me the guests that you want to have on the show. You've told me the topics that you want me to address on the show. And I've tried my very best to to either get those people on this podcast or find someone who can talk about the topics that you, want to talk about.
Tom Rowland: There's a lot of really, really important things to talk about in the fishing world, the hunting world, the outdoor world right now. And many of those have something to do with our fishing rights, with our ability to access certain places. And I'm definitely very interested in continuing on down that road of finding out what's on the horizon and what we need to be aware of.
Tom Rowland: If you have suggestions for the show, it's very easy to get in touch with me. You can text the number (305) 930-7346. They when you get there, you're asked a couple of questions. You have to submit a little bit of data. If you don't like doing that, you can do a straight email to podcast@saltwaterexperience.com. That gets right to me also. So you can either text and get to me by text. That's my favorite way of communicating or podcast@saltwaterexperience.com. That also you'll be able to send an email directly to me. I'll read it, take your suggestions, and I'll see if I can do anything with them.
Tom Rowland: There are other ways that you can get in touch with me too on social media. We're very active on Instagram at Tom Rowland podcast. If you're not following that, I'd encourage you to follow that. It's a big account. And, we will also, put your user generated content. You catch a big fish, you want to show it to us, tag me in the, on Instagram. And if I get that and see it, I will do my best to put you on that account as well. We're on TikTok, the Tom Rowland Podcast, Facebook, Tom Rowland Podcast Plus, and we're also on YouTube, Tom Rowland Podcast. And the shorts on the YouTube channel are doing really well. It's a entertaining place to go. So if you're not following any of those and you like the podcast, you can get more of the podcast, including short clips and, other things that we're doing on social media and on YouTube. So I really appreciate you following there.
Tom Rowland: There's a third, there's an additional place that you can see the podcast in a visual form, and that is Waypoint TV. Waypoint TV airs the podcast at various times through the day. And, some of my favorite, some of my favorite guests end up on, on Waypoint. There's so many, so many great guests. I could never pick my favorites, but I have been able to certainly interview many of the people that I have a tremendous amount of respect for. Bill Dance, Roland Martin, Jimmy Houston in the bass world, Mike Iaconelli, Jacob Wheeler, in the bass world, Robert Trosset. So many people in the saltwater world that you're familiar with, like Mark the Shark, people that are winning tournaments or creating controversy or whatever they're doing, including scientists, people that are working on preserving certain areas, people that are working on the science that help us to protect the fisheries that we really love. So many guests, I could never begin to, to name them all, but you can go and check them all out.
Tom Rowland: Out of nine forty six episodes, many of those are full length episodes that you can listen to in your car or on your way fishing, or many people tell me that they listen to the podcast while they're out there fishing. So if you just can't get enough fishing and you need more fishing, you can listen to fishing talk while you're fishing. It's amazing. Alright. But, again, I wanna thank you for listening, and I wanna thank you for the support. And I wanna encourage your continued support and give me more ideas. I need more ideas. So text (305) 930-7346, or send an email to podcast@saltwaterexperience.com. If that's not a way that you wanna communicate, get on social media and check us out on any of the platforms. Alright. See you.
