RT has been a fixture in Key West fishing since 1974, and 238 IGFA world records is not a number many guides get anywhere near. I wanted to catch up with him and talk through world records, hunting, family, and what still gets his blood flowing after everything he has already accomplished.
Being the first guide to lead anglers past 100 IGFA records is one thing. Getting to 238 is another. RT built that record chasing hardcore light-tackle anglers through the Miami Beach Rod and Reel Club and serious record chasers who came to Key West specifically to fish with him, and that history is worth hearing him walk through himself.
